On Getting a Guilt-Free Camera

I don’t like referring to photographers as amateurs or professionals, I would rather say that they are either passionate or not. You can hire a professional photographer (which makes a living only thanks to photography) that performs quite bland and without passion. And you can see an amateur photographer being extremely passionate about the craft.

Let’s talk about the passionate photographers today. There comes a time in a photographer’s life in which the aforementioned passion starts getting quite serious, and it might demand huge amounts of energy and focus. To clear this out, I’ll talk about my very own and personal experience first so you can get the bigger picture here.

I’ve been doing street and documentary photography for more than a decade now, and this beautiful genre has taken me apart from other genres and even certain joys of photography. I only shoot scenes that feel meaningful to me, and this serious approach has derived me from having fun taking pictures of anything that might feel silly or vernacular.
